What is Laser Hair Removal?

Hair Removal for Men

It used to be that hair removal was strictly a female thing. Unless you were a bodybuilder, cyclist, swimmer, or male exotic dancer, chances are your body hair remained untouched.

Not so anymore. More and more men are opting for the same grooming rights as women – including smooth body skin.

“Laser Hair Removal” is a collective term for the utilization lasers and intense pulsed light for the purpose of permanent hair reduction. Hair removal lasers selectively deliver laser light to dark hairs. This light causes the dark hairs to become heated; this heat travels down the hair shaft into the hair follicle and disrupts the hair follicle, preventing future hair growth. Since gray/white, blonde and red hairs have little or no dark melanin pigment; laser hair removal is not considered effective in treating these hair colors.

How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?

Hair reduction treatments are some of the most popular treatments for men and women across the globe! Viora’s hair reduction solutions offer an important advantage in the aesthetic market by using the most effective IPL and laser devices. With PCR™ Technology, with industry leading photo-epilation, Viora’s V-IPL and V-Nd:YAG Laser hair reduction solutions offer a significant reduction in hair growth that is both safe and quick.

Because body hair grows in three different stages, it takes multiple sessions in order to clear selected areas, but at Sanctuaire MD, our treatment packages can keep your skin silky and smooth for good.

The hair growth cycle is every 6-8 weeks for the body, and 4-6 weeks for the face. We suggest to our clients to schedule treatments 6-8 weeks apart to achieve the best permanent hair reduction results. It will take 6-8 treatments (on average) for permanent removal of up to 95% of the unwanted hair.

What Areas Can I Treat?

Laser hair removal is commonly done on: lip, underarm, ear lobe, shoulders, back, abdomen, buttocks, face, neck, chest, legs, toes, arms and hands.

With Viora V-IPL and V-Nd:YAG handpieces, hair reduction treatments for men have never been more comfortable, affordable and effective. Forget the inconvenience and pain of razor burns, waxing and plucking. Better yet, enjoy the most safe, quick and effective treatment for any part of your body with Viora.

Are There Any Side Effects?

Common side effects seen after laser hair removal treatments include temporary discomfort, redness, and swelling in the treatment area; loss of freckles or lightening of moles in the treatment area; and temporary skin lightening or darkening in the treatment area in some tanned or darker skin types.
